Smartslab

The Smartslab concept is based on a 600 x 600mm structural tile. Each of the tiles comprises 672 Hexels which can display video, images, or light effects. A Hexel is a hexagonal pixel, hexagons give smoother tessellating of moving images resulting in a higher perceived resolution. This means fewer driver LEDs can be used for the same effect. The concept is a biomimetic effect, inspired by a fly's eye. Smartslab can be built up into large arrays, the steel and polycarbonate structure means the panels can be used as flooring or even curtain walls in buildings.
